11 More Great Tips to Turn Your Business Website into a Money-Making Powerhouse!
There’s an old adage that ”Facts Tell and Solutions Sell.” That’s really good advice to anyone designing a business Website nowadays.
Okay, you’ve got your business website up and you’re attracting visitors, but they aren’t buying anything. What should you do?
When potential customers land on your site are they looking at dry, boring facts and pictures about your company and product? If so the average visitor will leave your site in 10 to 20 seconds if they don’t find or see what they are looking for. And they are gone forever . . . another missed opportunity down the drain.
So what are potential customers looking for? It’s simple, it’s easy and can be explained in one word . . . . “solutions.” That’s right “solutions to their problems.” If your copy doesn’t speak to that issue right from the git go . . . chances are you’re going to lose that prospect.
Let me put this in perspective by repeating an old cliché: “Nobody who buys a drill wants a drill . . . . they want a hole.” Simply put, that means your copy should lead with information about solving their problem(s) and not information about the product or service itself.
The first step in developing your sales presentation is to try to get inside the mind of your potential customer by asking yourself, “What information do they need to make a decision today, right now in order to make the purchase.
Consider the following steps:
1. List the questions that need to be answered by the prospect. Once you have that list, then put the questions in order of importance or in priority in the mind of your prospect as best as you can determine.
2. Next, write your answer to their questions keeping in mind you’re selling benefits and not sales features.
3. When writing your copy pretend, you are talking to the prospect on a very personal, one-on-one basis.
4. Determine which question and benefit is most important to the prospect and use that copy as your lead heading.
5. Take the second most important Q and A and write the sub-heading.
6. Make sure your first paragraph copy addresses an important benefit to pull the prospect into the body of your copy.
7. Write copy for each prospect question to sing the praises of the benefits they will receive from your product or service.
8. In the closing make sure to ask for the order at least 2 or 3 times.
9. Remember to include a money-back guarantee if you can as this will give the prospect the confidence to sign up and will result in more orders.
10. Offer a free premium if they sign up now such as an e-booklet download.
11. Make sure to design a bounce-back letter that goes out after the prospect signs up, thanking them for their business.
